Best of 2014

Un clàssic d'aquestes dates: les millors cançons de l'any que s'acaba per un servidor. Al Top 5 hi trobem el hype de l'any com han estat els Future Islands amb el seu hit amb majúscules 'Seasons (Waiting On You)', una 'An Ocean In Between The Waves' de The War On Drugs del que possiblement hagi estat el millor disc de l'any, amb altres clares candidates a estar en aquesta llista com 'Under the Pressure', 'Red Eyes' o 'Burning', i dos pelotassos marca de la casa de Cloud Nothings com són 'No Thoughts' i la més accessible 'I'm Not Part Of Me'. Tanquen aquest Top 5 els Univers amb dos temazos com són 'Travessant la Llum del Sol' i 'Plouen Planetes' del seu recent split amb Celica XX, i l'encapçalen La Iaia amb 'L'Ós': un megahit per estar ballant fins acabar exhaust, punta de llança del discàs dels vigatans. Molt orgullós de la collita catalana, on també han entrat a la llista artistes com Pau Vallvé, Muñeco o Dulce Pájara de Juventud. Grans, molt grans tots ells.

En definitiva, teniu de tot per fer una bona playlist: pop, rock, una mica de punk i petites píldores d'electrònica perquè no pareu de ballar. Que vagi de gust!

Arriba el final de l'any i, com sempre, les llistes dels millors àlbums i temes. Per variar, aquest any no hi haurà Top 10, sinó que he fet una super mixtape de 100 dels millors temes de l'any (més alguna excepció com Guided By Voices, Bon Iver, Oasis, The Stone Roses o The Smiths que he decidit incloure de manera personal). Dividida en 4 mixtapes individuals de 25 cançons cada una, us la deixo tant en una llista de Spotify (falten algunes!) com en descàrrega directa perquè la pogueu reproduir allà on volgueu.

Recopilació Indie Rock nº3: Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Tornem amb una nova recopilació de grups d'indie rock, aquesta vegada amb Karen O, Nick Zinner i Brian Chase: Yeah Yeah Yeahs. La banda sempre s'ha caracteritzat per un so punk molt particular, potenciat en forta mesura per la gran veu de Karen O. Després d'un parell d'EPs en que es van donar a conèixer, la seva discografia comença amb uns dos primers discs de punk rock molt bons, amb cada cançó millor que la anterior. Menció especial al final del primer amb dos mitjos temps immensos que son "Maps" i "Y-Control". Del segon es pot destacar el hit que va ser "Gold Lion" o seguint l'estil del 'Fever To Tell', temes com "Cheated Hearts" o "Turn Into" demostraven que no eren una banda d'un sol disc. Al seu tercer disc, el grup canvia d'estil i flirteja amb el dance i la música electrònica, sense abandonar les guitarres en certes cançons com "Heads Will Roll" o "Dull Life" que, al fi i al cap, són les millors de 'It's Blitz!'.

Ara que Pete Doherty està disposat a convèncer a Carl Barât per la reunificació de The Libertines, un dels grups més influents d'indie rock d'aquesta dècada, he decidit desenterrar els seus dos magnífics àlbums (+ EPs) i fer una tria dels seus millors temes per la segona recopilació del blog. M'he basat una mica amb el suposat Greatest Hits que va editar Rough Trade a finals del 2007, però augmentant i variant lleugerament el tracklist.
